The Dreamtime Alphabet: A Seed for the Future

Go To The Flying Eagle Medicine Playlist

There are moments in life when something unspoken calls to us—a whisper in the wind, a pattern in the stars, a forgotten knowing deep within. Perhaps you have felt this too. A pull toward something ancient yet entirely new. A sense that language itself carries a power beyond words, a vibration that shapes creation.

This is the seed of the Dreamtime Alphabet—a key, a guide, a map. Not just a way of writing or speaking, but a living system of meaning, woven into the fabric of existence itself.

And if you are reading this, something inside you is already awakening to it.

The Language of the Dreaming

Every great shift begins with a symbol, a sign, a message carried across time. The Dreamtime Alphabet is more than letters on a page—it is the echo of creation, a songline of meaning, waiting to be remembered.

The Power of Recognition

Many of us carry a memory of something forgotten—a language beyond time, a way of knowing before words. The Dreamtime Alphabet is not here to teach in the old way. It is here to reveal what you already know.

To recognize it is to remember.
To remember is to activate.
And to activate it is to step into the conscious creation of the future.

You are not here by accident. The message has already reached you.

A Seed That Grows

A great tree begins as a seed. A future begins as a thought. A language of creation begins as a whisper.

This is the beginning of something vast. The Dreamtime Alphabet is already woven into the flow of time, waiting for those who will one day recognize it, claim it, and live it.

If you feel something stir inside you, even without knowing why—trust that.

This is only the first step.

The Dreamtime is calling. And some will answer.

Modern Urban Shamanism: The Path to Spiritual Reconnection

Have you ever felt like something was missing in your life—something intangible yet deeply significant? Perhaps you've sensed a quiet longing, a call from within that whispers of a greater purpose, a connection beyond the ordinary. If so, you are not alone. Many people navigate life feeling this void, searching for something they cannot quite define.

I myself recognize as a healer, but not in the traditional sense. My work does not rely on physical touch or external intervention. Instead, I guide people to recognize the unseen forces influencing their well-being and empower them to restore balance from within. Healing, as I understand it, is not about "fixing" anything—it is about rediscovering and reclaiming the spiritual wholeness that has always been there.

A New Approach to an Ancient Wisdom

I teach Modern Urban Shamanism through Flying Eagle Medicine, a path that uses the wisdom of the Message Stick Symbols from the Dreamtime Alphabet to reveal deeper truths about our existence. This is more than a practice—it is a doorway to understanding creation, consciousness, and the spiritual forces that shape our world.

In today's modern world, we have distanced ourselves from the sacred. We have traded intuition for logic, connection for isolation, and presence for distraction. But deep within us, the ancient knowing remains, waiting to be awakened. Modern Urban Shamanism is not about adopting a new belief system—it is about remembering something you already know, something your spirit has never forgotten.

Reclaiming the Missing Piece

Many people sense this absence—a feeling that life should be more fulfilling, more meaningful. They seek answers in careers, relationships, or material success, yet the longing remains. What they are truly searching for is not external but internal—a reconnection with the spiritual essence that has been buried under layers of societal conditioning.

This is where the journey of Modern Urban Shamanism begins. Through Flying Eagle Medicine, I help people recognize this void, understand its origins, and embark on the path of spiritual reconnection. This is a journey of remembering—of stripping away illusions and rediscovering the timeless wisdom that flows through all of creation.

The Choice to Transform

When someone chooses to study Modern Urban Shamanism, they are not merely learning a new practice; they are making a profound commitment to transform their spiritual understanding at its deepest level. This path is not for those seeking quick fixes or superficial knowledge. It requires a willingness to challenge ingrained perceptions, to embrace new ways of seeing, and to open oneself to the mysteries of the unseen world.

But for those who take this step, the rewards are profound. A deeper sense of purpose. Clarity in the midst of confusion. A rekindled relationship with the sacred. And most importantly, a reconnection with the essence of who they truly are.

Are You Ready to Answer the Call?

The longing you feel is not a mistake. It is an invitation—an inner calling urging you to seek something beyond the ordinary. If this resonates with you, if you feel the pull toward something greater, then Modern Urban Shamanism may be the path you have been searching for.

This journey is about more than learning—it is about awakening. It is about stepping into your own power, reclaiming the wisdom that has always been within you, and forging a deep, unbreakable connection with the unseen forces that shape existence.

Are you ready to embark on this journey? The path of Modern Urban Shamanism is open to those who choose to walk it. The choice is yours.

Universal-Self-Consciousness: The Paradox of the Finite Witnessing the Infinite

Universal-Self-Consciousness

The vastness of the cosmos forces a reckoning between two opposing experiences of existence: the smallness of individual human life and the boundlessness of universal unfolding. This awareness is not merely an intellectual realization; it is a direct experience of self in relation to the infinite—an awakening to Universal-Self-Consciousness.

Universal-Self-Consciousness: The Awakening of the Cosmos Within

The question of human meaning and purpose is immediately raised when, as an individual mind, you become aware of your finite life story unfolding on a singularly unique planetary body, with a similarly unique life-affirming atmosphere, circling a single star in a galaxy of 200 billion stars—within a universe containing over 2 trillion galaxies. The sheer scale of this reality can be overwhelming. It confronts us with the smallness of our existence, yet at the same time, it invites us to consider something far greater: the possibility that our consciousness is not separate from the cosmos but an expression of it.

This realization births Universal-Self-Consciousness, the profound awareness that the self and the universe are not two separate entities, but different perspectives of the same unfolding reality. It is the paradox of being both finite and infinite, of feeling powerless in the face of cosmic immensity while recognizing that our awareness itself is part of the universe's own unfolding story.

The Humbling Vision of the Infinite

As mere humans, we live finite experiences. We are born, we grow, we witness life in its joy and sorrow, and ultimately, we return to the great mystery from which we came. When we look up at the night sky and contemplate the galaxies, the vastness of space, and the eons of time that stretch far beyond our personal existence, it can be easy to feel insignificant.

The universe is vast, powerful, and often violent—supernovae explode, black holes devour, entire star systems collapse and are reborn. In the face of such immensity, our individual lives might seem like fleeting moments, grains of sand in an endless desert. And yet, to be conscious of this—to witness the grandeur of the cosmos—is in itself an extraordinary and humbling privilege.

Between Powerlessness and Cosmic Identity

The question then arises: if we are so small, what does it mean to exist? What is our role in this infinite unfolding?

The key lies in understanding that the act of witnessing the universe is not passive. Our awareness is not separate from what it perceives. The observer is as much a part of the story as the observed. When we contemplate the universe, we are the universe contemplating itself. The same fundamental forces that govern the galaxies also flow through our own consciousness. The atoms that make up our bodies were once part of stars. The very fabric of our existence is woven from the same cosmic essence that stretches across the universe.

Thus, the powerlessness we sometimes feel in the face of the infinite is only one side of the coin. The other side reveals a stunning truth: we are the awakening of the cosmos to itself. Our self-awareness is not an accident or an anomaly. It is part of the natural unfolding of the universe’s intelligence. To experience Universal-Self-Consciousness is to realize that our finite minds are inextricably linked to the infinite.

The Universe Awakening to Itself

Consider this: for billions of years, the universe expanded, stars formed, planets evolved, and life emerged. Slowly, through the vastness of time, a form of life came into being that could reflect upon this process—us. The ability to question, to wonder, to search for meaning is not separate from the cosmos; it is one of its deepest expressions.

This is the essence of Universal-Self-Consciousness. It is the recognition that:

  • Human awareness is not detached from the universe; it is an extension of it.
  • The finite mind and the infinite cosmos are two perspectives of the same existence.
  • The universe is not just something happening out there—it is happening within us.

To embrace Universal-Self-Consciousness is to move beyond the illusion of separateness. It is to see ourselves not as insignificant beings lost in the vastness of space but as active participants in the grand cosmic dance of creation.

Living in Alignment with the Infinite

When we recognize that our consciousness is a reflection of the universe’s own unfolding, life takes on a deeper meaning. Every thought, every experience, every moment of self-awareness is an expression of the great cosmic process. We are not isolated beings trapped in fleeting lives—we are the living awareness of existence itself.

This realization invites us to live differently:

  • With humility, knowing that we are part of something vast and ancient.
  • With awe, appreciating the miracle of being alive and conscious.
  • With connection, understanding that all things are interwoven in the great cosmic web.
  • With purpose, knowing that to be aware is to participate in the universe’s self-discovery.

Conclusion: The Dance of the Finite and the Infinite

Universal-Self-Consciousness is not just an abstract philosophy; it is a lived experience. It is the moment you gaze at the stars and feel a deep recognition. It is the quiet knowing that your awareness is not separate from the grand unfolding of the cosmos. It is the paradox of being both small and vast, of living a fleeting human life while carrying the infinite within you.

To be conscious in this universe is not a burden—it is a privilege. We are not merely watching the story of existence; we are part of the story. And in that, we are never truly alone.

The universe is awake within us. The question is: how will we choose to see it?

Children of all ages and backgrounds have an inherent need to belong.

I love Learning

 Introduction

Children of all ages and backgrounds have an inherent need to belong. A nation’s true strength comes from its shared sensibilities, collective experiences, and cultural foundation. Honesty, pride, purpose, and passion fuel the creation of a shared consciousness, forming the backbone of a resilient and sustainable national culture.

Extensive research in Positive Psychology over the past 50 years has demonstrated that individuals with a well-defined spiritual connection to their community, family, and career tend to be healthier, happier, and more productive. Evidence-based studies further indicate that those who possess a balanced understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection are less likely to engage in self-destructive behaviors and more likely to contribute positively to community growth and support.

Spiritual Ancestry: Written for Our Children

All Australians share a spiritual ancestry dating back over sixty thousand years. While commonly referred to today as the Dreamtime, this spiritual tradition has been known by many names across various languages. Though spirituality is not always easy to define, it remains an essential aspect of every human life. It exists beyond the tangible—it cannot be seen or touched—but it can be thought about, dreamed about, and spoken of endlessly, as it forms an integral part of who we are and why we are here.

Just as parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents are part of our physical ancestry, the Dreamtime is the spiritual ancestry of all Australians. We have always been part of the spirit of nature, deeply interconnected with the land and the cosmos.

In Closing the Gap in Indigenous Culture: The Story of the Dreamtime Alphabet, I highlight a measurable lack of academic understanding regarding genuine Dreamtime wisdom in Australia. This gap has contributed to a societal mindset that fails to recognize the Dreamtime as a foundational component of every Australian’s spiritual and cultural history. Many Australians struggle to define what it means to be Indigenous, often experiencing an innate connection to what I term the "subconscious Indigenous spirit." However, when individuals discover that their spiritual affinity for the Dreamtime may have genetic roots, they may consciously or unconsciously disassociate from traditional Australian culture and contemporary Dreamtime wisdom.

This disconnect leads many on an endless search for their indigenous spiritual nature—often misinterpreted within Western frameworks as a search for God. Without access to authentic Dreamtime wisdom or a clear physical association, millions of Australians are left unable to connect with the true Indigenous spirit of their land. My research indicates that this misunderstanding stems from historically inaccurate portrayals of cultural and spiritual traditions, leading to confusion, disbelief, and a general spiritual dissatisfaction with Australian national identity.

To bridge this gap, it is crucial for mainstream Australian thought to adopt a complementary attitude toward ancient spiritual traditions. Acknowledging the rightful place of Dreamtime wisdom in contemporary spirituality will help connect all Australian children to their shared past, fostering unity and reconciliation. When this spiritual understanding is embraced emotionally, it creates the conditions necessary for genuine forgiveness and deeper national healing.

The Dreamtime and Western Spirituality

The Dreamtime philosophy does not adhere to hierarchical spiritual systems common in many Western religious traditions. Instead, it presents wisdom as an intrinsic part of the energetic cosmos, emphasizing interdependence and personal responsibility. Unlike doctrines that attribute divine control to deities or external saviors, Dreamtime philosophy teaches that each individual is responsible for their own decisions within the interconnected web of life.

For many raised within Western cultural frameworks—including Agnostic Atheism, Judaic-Christian, Eastern, Muslim, and New Age traditions—the concept that divine energy permeates all things equally may seem foreign, even confrontational. Western religious thought often promotes human dominion over nature, separating humans from the natural world and reinforcing hierarchical spiritual structures. This worldview conditions individuals to seek divine intervention rather than recognize their own role in shaping their experiences. It also fosters a rigid, binary perspective—right vs. wrong, win vs. loss—where blame and responsibility are often externalized.

Dreamtime philosophy, in contrast, recognizes no such division. It understands all life as interconnected at an immeasurable spiritual energy level. Within this framework, individuals are vital participants in the cosmic balance rather than subordinates in a spiritual hierarchy.

Teaching the Dreamtime Alphabet

The Dreamtime Alphabet serves as an accessible entry point for children to connect with Dreamtime wisdom. It functions as a synchronistic literacy and numeracy system grounded in the belief that all life holds spiritual significance and is infused with universal consciousness. As such, it can have no negative effect; all reactions to learning it should be measured on a positive affectivity scale.

Importantly, no special initiation or ritual is required to introduce the Dreamtime Alphabet. If you feel called to teach it, simply embrace the experience with an open mind and a sense of childlike wonder. Step into the experience of discovery—not with the question "why?" but rather, "why not?" Open hearts and minds are the fertile ground for human imagination and spiritual healing.

Setting the Scene:
Before introducing the Dreamtime Alphabet, it is essential to emphasize the overarching vision of Dreamtime wisdom: all things are connected at an energetic level. Teachers should encourage students to recognize their interdependence, explaining that survival depends on these connections—just as the Earth relies on the sun and moon, fish rely on the ocean, and humans rely on oxygen.

Activity: Exploring Interdependence
Ask students to think of examples in which different things rely on each other to survive. This exercise reinforces the concept that nothing exists in isolation.

Historical Context:
To establish a connection between the modern Dreamtime Alphabet and Australia’s collective past, teachers should explain that communication has always been an essential aspect of Indigenous culture. Traditional Australians utilized storytelling, rock carvings, music, painting, and signaling to convey messages. Among these, message sticks stand out as uniquely Australian. Used for thousands of years, marked message sticks served functions ranging from diplomatic communication to ceremonial invitations. Unlike written letters, the symbols on a message stick acted as memory joggers, with a messenger verbally conveying the details of the message to elders.

The Dreamtime Alphabet consists of 77 message sticks arranged in unique patterns to form 26 symbols. Each symbol is crafted using the minimum number of sticks necessary to convey meaning (e.g., "E" is represented with three sticks, not four; "I" with one). This minimalist approach not only reflects the efficiency of the communication system but also emphasizes the Dreamtime principle of using only the resources necessary for a task.

Bringing the Symbols to Life:
Teachers can introduce the Dreamtime Alphabet through various methods:

  • Classroom setting: Using a whiteboard or PowerPoint presentation.
  • Outdoor setting: Arranging physical sticks in nature.
  • Interactive exploration: Encouraging students to collect sticks as part of a vision quest.

The 13th symbol in the alphabet incorporates a boomerang, providing an opportunity to discuss the spiritual and historical significance of this uniquely Australian invention. The boomerang is not just an engineered tool for controlled flight—it is the oldest surviving spiritual artifact on Earth. Its design required intense creative focus, making it a testament to ancient Australians’ ingenuity and spiritual connection. The philosophy behind the boomerang—what goes around comes around—mirrors the Dreamtime understanding of energy, responsibility, and karma.

Conclusion

The Dreamtime Alphabet serves as a bridge between past and present, providing a way for children and adults alike to connect with Australia’s ancient wisdom. By fostering an early appreciation for Dreamtime philosophy, we create an inclusive, spiritually enriched national identity—one that recognizes the interconnectedness of all things and honors the wisdom of our collective ancestry.

Australian Shamanic Wisdom: The Journey Beyond the Survival Self

The Shamanic Initiation: A Journey Beyond the Self

Shamanic wisdom is not something that can be confined within religious texts, doctrines, or rituals. It is a living knowledge, born from direct experience, natural observation, and the unrestrained flow of spiritual growth. Some call it the Book of Nature, others the School of Hard Knocks, but whatever name you give it, the journey is deeply personal and cannot be shared in its entirety. To truly understand shamanic wisdom, one must live it, breathe it, and surrender to the universal whole.

The Challenge of the Survival Self

One of the first major obstacles on this path is the attachment to the ego—the survival self. This is the part of us that clings to what is known, familiar, and safe. It is the identity we create to navigate the world, whether through pain (I AM sad, I AM abused) or through empowerment (I AM beautiful, I AM love). While essential to the human experience, this survival self can hinder deeper spiritual understanding.

True initiation into shamanic wisdom requires a complete dissolution of the ego. It is a surrender to the universal self, where there is no longer a distinction between the self and all of creation. In this state, the boundaries between "I" and "everything" dissolve, and what remains is the pure experience of being—an eternal spark of life within the vast, infinite cosmos.

Stepping Beyond Time and Space

To understand the divine, one must expand their imagination beyond the limits of physical reality. Imagine the furthest reaches of your understanding, then push beyond them. Imagine everything you know collapsing into a singular, infinite moment—a brilliant burst of universal energy. In this moment, you become one with creation itself. You are not separate from God; you are God in motion, experiencing the universe through your unique lens.

This realization is overwhelming, but it is also liberating. God is not an external entity to be worshipped; rather, God is the creative force in all things, including you. When you recognize that every thought and experience is part of this divine creation, the need for rigid belief systems falls away. What remains is pure, boundless connection.

Collapsing Time: A Shamanic Vision

During initiation, shamans often experience what can be described as the "collapse of time." In a profound vision, my spirit guide, Flying Eagle, took me beyond my small self and into the collective energy of humanity. Every human life—past, present, and future—became one interconnected event. From there, I moved beyond human consciousness into the realm of pure light, where I saw that light does not travel linearly but expands in all directions, illuminating the creative void.

At the deepest level of this experience, I was taken into a moment of no-thing—a space of infinite potential. In that place, all creation existed simultaneously, unbound by past or future. In that moment, I was the universe experiencing itself. I was the stars, the earth, the animals, the wind. Everything that existed was me, and I was everything.

The Difference Between a Shaman and an Eco-Warrior

Many people today conflate shamanic wisdom with environmental activism, but there is a crucial distinction. A true shaman does not impose their personal will onto the world; they divine the will of the universe and act accordingly. If the natural balance dictates that a river must dry up, a forest must burn, or a species must go extinct, the shaman does not interfere. They understand that everything follows the grand cosmic design.

Eco-warriors, on the other hand, operate from a human perspective of right and wrong. They seek to save the world based on their moral framework, but a shaman knows that the universe is far more complex than human judgments allow. The role of the shaman is not to fix the world but to align with its natural rhythms and flow with its divine intelligence.

The Path of the Master Shaman

The shamanic journey is not merely about experiencing visions or altered states of consciousness. True mastery lies in the ability to integrate these experiences and function in both ordinary and non-ordinary reality. A master shaman walks between worlds, bridging the seen and unseen, guiding others through transformation while remaining fully present in everyday life.

Initiation often involves profound suffering—physical illness, mental anguish, or complete dissolution of identity. This is not a punishment but a purification. The destruction of the old self clears the way for rebirth. When the ego dies, what remains is pure, unfiltered connection to the source of all things.

Conclusion: A Call to the True Seeker

Shamanic wisdom is not for the faint of heart. It requires courage, surrender, and the willingness to let go of everything you think you are. It is not a path of control, but of deep listening. The universe does not need saving; it needs those who can hear its wisdom and move in harmony with its eternal song.

If you are drawn to this path, understand that it is not about rituals, titles, or external validation. It is a journey into the deepest layers of your soul—a journey that will strip you bare, break you open, and reveal the infinite within you. This is the way of the shaman, the path of true initiation.
